About our carers
Belonging to Coastal Family Day Care Scheme, educators are recruited and trained by the coordination unit.
Individual services are supported and monitored. With access to continued learning and leading thinking in childcare, family day care educators have access to the most unique training structure within the childcare industry.
Quality assurance within family day care is governed by the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care. Each educator must meet national requirements in not only early childhood and childcare skills but also in planning, administration and communications. Having passed a safety screening (including police and child protection checks) prior to commencing work in family day care, all educators must be fully insured, have a current full first aid certificate, and maintain a safe childcare environment.
The personal qualities of educators reflect community diversity - of families, values and cultures - empathy, warmth, compassion, flexibility, professionalism and maturity. A commitment to nurturing and caring for children is taken as a given. Many educators have their own children of varying ages - all have experience with children.
Family day care educators are able to combine earning an income whilst at home with their own children and family.
